The County Council of Wareng is one of the three Local Authorities in Uasin Gishu District, the others being the Municipal Council of Eldoret and the Town Council of Burnt Forest. The Council covers the rural area of 3,327.8 sq kilometers with a population of with 894,174 (2009 census ). It has six Administrative Divisions namely; Kapseret, Moiben, Soy, Turbo, Kesses and Ainabkoi. The Council is divided into 27 electoral Wards and therefore has 27 elected Councillors and 9 nominated (including a Public Officer). The Council also has a team of dedicated and hardworking members of staff which falls into the Council’s five departments namely; Clerks Department, Treasurer’s Department, Social Services Department, Public Health Department and Building & Works Department
