Geographical and physical Description
The county council of Wareng is within altitude that ranges between 1500 and 2100 meters above the sea level. The rainfall in the area is high, ranging between 900 – 1200 mm per annum. Temperature range between8.4 degrees celcious and 26.1 degrees celcious. Dry spells are experienced between November and February. The wettest areas of the council are located within Ainabkoi, Kapseret and Kesses Divisions
The soils are mainly of phonolites in nature, which are derived from igneous rocks. Other soil types are syenites and trechytes. These are well drained, extremely deep, dark red dish brown in colour.
The council is dissected by rivers which drain to Lake Victoria. These include Rivers Sosian, Kipkaren, Kipkuner, Daragna and Sambul. These rivers provide enough water for domestic, livestock and industrial use.
